Bessie (Devorah Bashe) Pickholtz Kraus
born in Zalosce, East Galicia, died in Pittsburgh 19 April 1953
(by granddaughter, Terry Kraus)
Grandma Kraus taught Sunday School. She was a homemaker; she was
a very
gentle lady. She was very careful about her appearance.
She was a
"Yiddishe mother." When my mom first met her, she said "BeBe,
I've known
you all your life." She used to live in my mother's grandfather's
house.
It was a large home converted into apartments when the children left,
and
my father's family lived on the second floor.
Her husband was a salesman; a kind man and a gentle person who kept
to
himself.
