Subject: Genealogy #16 Date: Sun, 14 May 2000 05:07:16 +0300 This will be quick, as I am in a brief few days between my two-week hard disk crash and one week in Galicia. The crash wasn't the disaster it could have been as I was well backed up except in my email, and even that came out with only some losses. But getting set up again took much too long. During the last few weeks, I have collected quite a bit of new information, mostly on the RavJG family. Because of the crash, I did not get this onto the web site, and I have quite a bit to do in that department. In my meeting with Mahla Tisser, I received a couple of hundred Pickholz descendants, all from a single couple. Some of these families are quite prolific. One couple (in their mid- seventies) has seven children, sixty grandchildren and thirty great- grandchildren. For the descendants of the brothers (Chaim) Avraham and Dov Berish we now have a maiden name for their mother Frimit. She was a GELB. At least that tells us that in this family, the Pickholz came from the father Yitzhak. (The same source - Dov Berish's application for a Social Security card - has the father as Israel. not Yitzhak. I'm going to ignore that for now.) There are a few new graves on the web site. You might have a look at http://www.geocities.com/pikholz/Cemetery/Miriam_Rehovoth.htm This was a woman who died as a young mother. (Her father was Zev Pikholz of Skalat and she herself was born there.) The tree represents being cut down in the prime of life. Must go. Israel P. -- End --
