To: @PIKHOLZ.PML Subject: Skalat cemetery Reply-to: zach4v6@actcom.co.il Date: Fri, 18 Aug 2000 13:20:05 +0300 As I mentioned earlier, the Skalat cemetery is now a soccer field, but there are tombstones collected in at least two places. Skalat is one of the two greatest concentrations of Pikholz ancestors. (Including my own branch.) I just had a phone call from Haim Bronstein, who just returned from Skalat with news of a tentative agreement to set aside an area for these stones. There will be a meeting on the subject Sunday 27 August at 6 PM on Kevutzat Yavne (where several Skalat survivors live). Haim is particularly concerned that there will be young people (he counts me as young, so you understand where he is coming from), to counter those who ask who will worry about it "after we are gone." I don't know if there will be a pitch for contributions. Shabbat shalom. Israel P.
