What about the Holocaust records that the Germans finally released recently?

In addition to the microfilms of the International Tracing Service of the Red Cross that Yad Vashem has had for fifty years, the more extensive files held at the ITS archives in Bad Arolsen Germany are now available for research.

Yad Vashem will do lookups for you at no charge, if you are looking for specific people.

But if you are casting a wider net, you will need to go there yourself.  In an hour of research, I found several Pikholz descendants whom I would not have known to ask about and that is only scratching the surface.
Here are two examples of many, with US addresses removed and one surname distorted for privacy.

There is a wealth of new material of this sort and if you cannot
get there to do this research yourself, it might be wise to have
someone with experience do it for you.
